Tarte Holiday Limited Edition Sets

By: Michelle
The first Sephora store opened in Sydney a couple of days ago and of course, Diemmy and I went to the store. I had one goal (realistically I had a whole list), and that was to purchase the limited edition sets from Tarte. And the first thing I did when I ran into the store was grab these two limited edition sets; Bon Voyage Collector’s Set & Travel Bag ($78AUD) and Pin Up Girl Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush Palette ($58AUD).

I am very excited to try out the products in these sets. If you're looking for something new to add to your makeup collection, or looking for a good Christmas gift, you keep these sets in mind! Such good value for what you get!

Diemmy and I will be making detailed posts and reviews on the sets within the next few posts, so watch out for those!

Much Love,
Michelle.

E.L.F's Blending Eye Brush

By: Michelle

I admit, I tend to be lazy when it comes to washing my make-up brushes. As a result, I often struggle to find clean eyeshadow brushes. Recently I have purchased E.L.F's Blending Eye Brush. This is the first time I've ever used a brush, or anything from E.L.F. I've always been curious about this brush as I've seen a lot of youtubers use it. Finally, I got my hands on it, and I'm quite happy that I did!

I've used the brush to apply eyeshadow on my crease, and to blend out my eyeshadow. It does it's job, and does not irritate my eyes. I'm actually surprised by how soft the bristles are, as I was expecting it to be made of lower quality. In fact, I've returned and purchased another one for a back-up.

The brush was only $3 from K-mart, however if you live in the U.S. I believe it is only $1 - which is such a good deal. I think purchasing this E.L.F eyeshadow brush is a good idea if you're looking for a cheap alternative to add to your collection. Give it a try, it won't disappoint or put a big hole in your wallet.

Much love,
Michelle.

Currently Loving: Hand Cream

By: Michelle

So I was in the Body Shop the other day, purchasing a gift for my cousin, when I stumbled upon this hand cream. I love hand creams and always carry one in my bag. So when I opened the lid, applied, and smelt this bad boy... it was love at first smell. I couldn't stop smelling it!

The hand cream is in the Strawberry flavour and it comes with 30 ml of product. The packaging is very sleek and pleasing to the eyes. It is light so it's very travel friendly. I bring this everywhere I go now. I love the texture of the cream. It's very light weight and does not feel sticky. Once I apply it, my hands feel so soft and smooth.

I definitely want to try out the other flavours, especially the mango! However, it seems to never be in stock when I go to the store. Such a shame... one day I will get my hands on those!

What is your favourite hand cream?

Much love,
Michelle.

Clio's Waterproof Pen Liner in Kill Brown

By: Michelle

I don't wear eyeliner on a daily basis, but when I do, I would whip out this holy grail product, Clio's Waterproof Pen Liner in Kill Brown. I also have this liner in the Kill Black version, but I thought I'll write a post about the brown instead.

Clio is known for their eyeliners, and I truly believe they live up to the high expectations and standards as this eyeliner is very long lasting. It truly lasts throughout the whole day, even when I am sweating. The reason why I purchased a brown liquid eyeliner is because it gives a more natural look compared to the black. So if you want an everyday natural eyeliner, purchase the brown one. In addition, the tip of the pen is very precise, making it very easy to draw the wings. With the precise tip, you can either draw a thin line or build it up to a thick one.

I can't think of anything negative about this eyeliner. I love it and will repurchase it if it ever runs out.

Much love,
Michelle.

Notebook Hoarding

By: Michelle

Hey guys,
I'm so sorry for the inconsistent posts. My life has been so crazy for the past month. I was bombarded with essays upon essays. Thankfully, I completed all of them last Friday, marking the end of my 2nd year at uni. However, this week continued to be even more intense because Yonghwa from CNBLUE was in Sydney. If you didn't know, I'm a die hard fan of CNBLUE. I was extremely... extremely lucky with my friend Sylvia, as we were able to watch Yonghwa film for two days (November 2nd-3rd). It was amazing... more than amazing... it was... everything that I wanted and more. I was really happy, and I still am... but now I'm in post-Yonghwa depression. I'm such a fangirl.

Nevertheless, life continues and I need to start getting stuff done. For instance, blog posts! For this post, I thought I would share with you my notebooks that I have in my collection. I love notebooks. I tend to purchase them even when I have quite a few at home, waiting to be used. I use notebooks for a number of things. Such as writing my blogging ideas, writing my lecture notes, planning out my work and writing my to-do list. With a nice notebook, it is a source of motivation for me. It just makes everything better. Is this the same with you?

In fact, right after publishing this post, I'm going to take one out and start jotting down blog posts or videos that I need to do. Reviews? Favourites? Clothing? Who knows...

Much love,
Michelle.

Eyebrow Game

By: Michelle

Eyebrows are the features that frames your whole entire face. Luckily I am blessed in the eyebrow department, and didn't over pluck when I was young. However, I do need to fill in my eyebrows since my ends are not that great. For me, if my eyebrows look odd, then my whole make-up is just wrong. So picking eyebrow products that works best for you is very important in the make-up department.

I have been using two products to do my eyebrows and I am loving it. The first one is Missha's Smudge Proof Eyebrow Pencil. I use this first to lightly fill in my eyebrows. I can not stress to you how important it is to use a light hand because it can end up look extremely dark and harsh... and we don't want that now do we?!

The second product is new to my eyebrow routine and that is Etude House's Color My Brows. This is an eyebrow tint and it's amazing. I lightly brush this through my eyebrows. It tints my eyebrows, making it look fuller. I also find that it makes my eyebrows stay on a lot longer, preventing it from smudging off throughout the day.

Those are the two products that I depend on to have a good brow. What eyebrow products do you use to have achieve your strong eyebrow game?

Primer Loving

Hello lovelies! I thought I would share with you my current favourite face and eye primers. I use primer every time I do my make-up. When I go out, I tend to go for several hours. So using a primer is a must so my foundation or eye make-up doesn't go slipping and sliding off my face. Without it, it makes my whole make-up feel wrong.

My favourite face primer would have to be Etude House's Goodbye Pore Ever. I have quite a lot of pores on my nose, and this just does it's job - filling in my pores. I also find my foundation lasts a lot longer with this on, and I tend to get less oily. With this product, I am killing quite a couple of birds with one stone!

I've also been loving Etude House's Proof 10 Eye Primer. I used to never use primer but after going through my make-up I found this product and thought I should give it a go. Thankfully I did because now I can't go without it if I apply eyeshadow. It makes my eyeshadows stay on surprising a lot longer!

What's your current favourite primer?

Memories in Korea

By Diemmy

So it's safe to say... I MISS KOREA and I'm pretty sure Michelle feels the same way too. Recently, I took out a bag of photos to discover that it was the polaroids that we had taken during our trip to Korea. We may or may have not went crazy with polaroid taking in Korea but we thought "Why not?" since we were going overseas and making memories... (sorry about all the cheesiness).

Looking over the polaroids really brought back all the memories that we had in Korea and it's save to say that WE LEFT OUR HEARTS IN KOREA. So I just thought it would be nice to share some of the polaroids that we took during our trip with you guys!

Make-Up Area Motivation

By: Michelle

This morning I had the sudden motivation to clean. On top of my list was my make-up area. My make-up area has been a complete mess for the past month. Everything was everywhere, especially my lipsticks that was overcrowding my already small space. I finally cleaned and now I feel like my whole life is organised. Yes, make-up area clean = an organised life. There's so much space now and everything is placed where it should be. Hopefully I will maintain this for quite some time. I'm so happy with it. I think this will also motivate me to film more beauty related videos. In fact, I might even film a get ready with me video tomorrow.

On another note, if you see any products you want for me to review, please let me know!

What's your make-up area like? Clean? Or a bit messy?

Much love,
Michelle

Costco Adventure

Just a few random shots of our day on the 2nd of October. We spent the day with two of our lovely friends, Lilian and Caroline. Lilian wanted to buy a polaroid camera, so we headed off to Costco in the afternoon. The weather was so nice where the drive felt like a mini-road trip... despite it being a 15 minute car ride. Diemmy recently purchased a camera, the Sony Alpha 5000, so we decided to whip out the new gem and test it out. It's the first time we vlogged on the new camera and it's such a huge difference from our phones. The quality is amazing, which you can see from the pictures down below. We'll upload a vlog soon, most likely the beginning of next week so watch out for that!

The Lorac Pro Palette

By: Michelle

Hi everyone! So, today's post will be about a product everyone has heard of... the Lorac Pro Palette! My beautiful friends surprised me with this palette for my birthday. I remember when I unwrapped the present and saw what it was... my heart skipped beats. It was not what I was expecting at all!

The palette comes with 16 versatile colours. The first row consists of matte colours, whereas the bottom are all shimmery eyeshadows. My first swatch of this palette and my heart melted. I am in love. The eyeshadows are so pigmented, smooth and buttery. Just a slight touch of the product and it would be enough.

The packaging itself is very sleek. It is slim and lightweight so it's very good for travelling. I am definitely bringing this palette with me when I go overseas at the beginning of the year.

If you are looking for a high quality eyeshadow palette, the Lorac Pro is one that you should consider. You would not be disappointed. To be honest, when I talk about this palette to anyone, my inner fangirl comes out. I squeal and do a little dance because the palette is amazing

Sadly I didn't have time to do swatches of the eyeshadows itself, but if you want swatches then let me know by commenting down below!

I hope you are all having a lovely week!

Much love,
Michelle.

REVIEW: Clio’s Gelpresso Pencil Gel Liner Mini Set

By: Michelle

Clio’s Gelpresso Pencil Gel Liner Mini set is probably one of the best investments I have made. Clio is well known for their eyeliners, especially the Gelpresso line. In this set, it consists of five gelpresso liners. The shades are in Bloody Angel No.7, Gold Shine No. 9, Golden Black No.5, Deep Sea No. 10 and Jade Green No. 11.

The description states
“It is filled with sliding gel texture in the retractable mini auto pencil. It glides on smooth and gives high-defined eyeline. Creamy and melting formula stays put all day long without smudge.

And I agree with every single word. The quality of this set is amazing. Although I may not use some of the colours on an every day basis, it is great for testing out or for fun make-up days. The eyeliner stays on for extended periods of time and does not smudge. What more do you want from an eyeliner?!

I’m not too sure if this set is still available, but if it is, you should definitely check it out. I purchased this set for under 12,000 won ($12) when it was on sale. I think the original price is under 16,000 won ($16). For the price, it is definitely worth it.

Review: Tony Moly's Prestige Carat Filler Foundation

By: Michelle
One of the foundations I purchased when I was in South Korea was Tony Moly's Prestige Carat Filler Foundation in Shade 21. This wasn't in my wishlist, however, it was 50% at Myeongdong. How could I possibly say no?

I love the packaging of this foundation. It looks very classy. A frosted class jar with a black lid. Simple, yet elegant. Additionally, there are a lot of foundations out there where it doesn't come with a pump. Luckily, this foundation comes with a sturdy pump! It just makes life a lot easier.

The foundation has SPF30 PA++ which is extremely useful for days when I am lazy to apply suncreen. However, I wouldn't wear this foundation on days where I know I will take flash photos as suncreen reflects the light, making our faces whiter in photos.

In my opinion, the foundation feels slightly thick and sticky. However, once applied, it doesn't feel heavy and has a nice finish. It has a slight fragrance which I don't really like, but it doesn't last for long.

It has good medium coverage. It covered all my pores and my redness which I was really happy with. The staying power of this foundation was average. It lasted for quite some time. I have oily-combination skin, so I tend to get oily on my t-zone by the end of the day. However, with this foundation, I barely had any oil on my t-zone which I was really impressed with. So, very good oil control!

However, overtime I noticed some areas of my skin becoming dry. This was ultimately the deal breaker of the foundation. Over a period of time, the foundation accentuated and made some areas of my skin patchy, which did not look good. Hence, I do not recommend this foundation for people with dry skin.

Overall, I am slightly disappointed in this foundation. However, I am going to try and give this a go in summer, where my skin would be more oily than in winter.

I would give this a 3/5.
